Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in all its forms—mainly inattentive, mainly hyperactive/impulsive and combined—is the best-studied psychiatric disorder in children, especially with respect to medications. Researchers have shown both that ADHD symptoms often are highly responsive to a number of different types of medication and that the actual course of ADHD is relatively resistant to change, irrespective of treatment.
