Clinic Job Position Descriptions
Behavioral Consultant
Our Behavior Management department, located within the CHC outpatient clinic, is searching for a Behavioral Consultant. The candidate chosen will develop, implement, and review behavior management systems within the school districts, homes, and community agencies for specific clients, or groups of clients. Will develop, write, implement, and train others to implement Functional Analysis Assessments, Individual Behavior Plans, Classroom Consultations, and Individual Behavior Consultations. Trains school district staff, community agencies, and parents, on conflict resolution, anger management, social skills training, crisis management, strategies for maximizing student learning, team building for classrooms, issues of inclusion, and principles of behavior analysis. Travels to various schools within various districts, and counties, as well as provides consultation to families/professionals within The Children's
Health Council.
The candidate chosen will possess sound written and verbal communication skills, strong public speaking and presentation skills and excellent time and material organizational skills. Must be able to constrictively engage in rapidly changing behavioral situations. Keen observation, listening and interactive skills are vital for developing professional relationships. Knowledge of learning disabilities, emotional disturbances and severe handicaps and ability to assess the needs of children and to develop appropriate assessments and plans is required. Must be knowledgeable
in special education law and applied behavioral analysis theories. Job Requirements: Masters Degree in Human Services field with advanced training in ABA required. BCBA preferred. Requires working knowledge of ABA and past experience conducting functional assessments and developing behavior interventions as well
as knowledge of verbal operants and discrete trial training. Working knowledge of special education laws preferred. Ability to train diverse caregivers and educators
in principles and plans required.

Occupational Therapist
The Children's Health Council is seeking a senior level clinician in Occupational Therapy. As an Occupational Therapist in CHC's outpatient clinic, you will work in a dynamic agency collaborating with other professionals on multidisciplinary assessments and treatments. You will conduct OT assessments in gross and fine motor functioning for pre-school and school aged children, as well as related perceptual motor skills for children receiving team assessments. Some on-going occupational therapy treatment cases are also a part of the workload. Therapist is responsible for communicating and integrating their findings with parents, other team members and community professionals. The OT will collaborate with other team members when appropriate to compile a diagnostic team report or summary, will be responsible for writing detailed Occupational Therapy Assessment reports and/or contributing to a Diagnostic Team Summary/Report. The candidate chosen will also have the opportunity to provide occupational therapy services in our non-public therapeutic day school. Opportunities for community outreach, case management, and program development abound. Invaluable mental health, speech language and educational resources are available. Requirements: Master's Degree plus at least 3 years of pediatric OT experience post licensure/credential are required, preferably in an interdisciplinary setting, as well as experience in conducting OT assessments. Valid CA state license/credential also required.
Staff Psychologist - Young Child Dept.
A CHC staff psychologist is primarily responsible for: conducting assessments
and evaluations both within the clinic and at satellite offices, including formal psychological testing, clinical interviews and treatment plan development for children and adolescents with suspected complex and severe pathologies (these may be
part of an inter-disciplinary evaluation team and/or as a single discipline); providing individual, family and group therapy; providing educational workshops and talks to community groups on topics of expertise, as requested by the Dept. Head/Clinical Director. Ph.D. in Psychology from accredited graduate school required. 100% FTE.

Esther B. Clark School Position Descriptions
Behavioral Specialist – Esther B. Clark School
We are searching for a Behavior Specialist. Under the direction of the Behavior Specialist Manager, the Behavior Specialist will oversee the prudent implementation of each child’s behavior program in an assigned self-contained classroom. Candidates will develop, implement and oversee the classroom Positive Behavior Training (PBT) management system, conduct functional analysis assessment and design individual positive behavior intervention plans Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), and Individual Behavior Plan (IBP) as necessary and support the children and staff
in the classroom by working with the classroom team to develop, monitor, and document behavioral performance of each student assuring that IEP goals and mental health treatment plans for each child is being responsibly addressed. Requirements: B.A. in Psychology or related field and/or Special Education teaching background with undergraduate college degree and/or advanced degree in mental health field and/or special education in progress. Minimum two years working in a school setting working with children who have serious emotional disturbances and/or learning disabilities preferred.
Lead Teacher – Esther B. Clark School
We are searching for a Special Education Teacher to serve as the Lead Teacher in
a multi-disciplinary team consisting of a therapist, behavioral specialist, teaching assistant and, possibly, one-on-one aide(s). The position will begin during the summer of this year. Candidates should have experience preparing and presenting IEP goals, know how to modify curriculum to address identified learning challenges and desire to work collaboratively with mental health professionals in the classroom setting. This is a full year salaried exempt position with paid benefits. Requirements: B.A. and current CA special education credential. At least 3 years of teaching experience in special education, preferably with behaviorally and emotionally disturbed children is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required as are excellent team building skills.
