Parent Education Classes Offered at CHC

The Parent Education Program offers parenting classes that cover a wide variety of topics concerning children ages 0 to 18. Classes are designed
to help parents understand the themes and developmental tasks of various stages of childhood and adolescence.

Topics Include:

  • Building Emotional Understanding
  • Is Your Child Ready for Kindergarten?
  • Anger Management
  • Tantrum Training
  • Whose Problem Is This?
  • Understanding Your Child's Temperament
  • You are Your Child's First Teacher
  • Help Your Child with Homework & Organization Skills

Registration Information
Registration for the winter classes begins December 6, 2006
and will be processed in the order that they are received.
Pre-registration and prepayment are required. Registrations
will be accepted until classes are full. If a class is full, we will place you on the waiting list and notify you by telephone.

Cost: Class fees vary. Please refer to the complete schedule of classes
for class cost.

Many classes are free (unless otherwise noted).

All classes will be held at the Children's Health Council from
7:00 pm to 9:00 pm (unless otherwise noted).

Financial Assistance is available for all classes

Cancellation Policy: If you are unable to attend a class, you must notify our
office 3 working days prior to the class session, in order to receive a full refund.
If you cancel after this time, you will receive a full refund, minus a $10.00 administrative fee.

Parent Resource Room
Our Parent Resource Room provides resources and books for parents. We also have a Parent Education coordinator who coordinates classes for parents on a wide variety of topics for normally developing children as well as topics that include issues related to specific diagnostic categories.
