Professional Experience
Dr. Pearson recently became a Staff Psychologist after completing her postdoctoral fellowship at the Children’s Health Council. She practices psychology from an integrative perspective, conducting individual therapy, parent-child therapy, group therapy and assessments for children of all ages. Dr. Pearson specializes in parenting issues and helping parents to reflect on how their upbringing may impact their relationship with their child. She is trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and uses this approach with children with disruptive behaviors. She uses cognitive-behavioral play therapy for children with anxiety and adjustment difficulties and a cognitive-behavioral/developmental approach with older children and adolescents for a variety of difficulties.
Before joining CHC, Dr. Pearson completed her clinical psychology internship at University of Michigan’s Institute for Human Adjustment. She previously worked as an early childhood educator at the Karen Horney Therapeutic Nursery School in New York City.
