COST

Our prices are competitive with local child development professionals.  The cost for service is based on the hourly rates of specialists.  Once a plan is determined, the specialist will provide you with a cost estimate for services. 

Help for Parents

Parent education:  FREE!  Made possible by a generous donor grant.
Parent coaching: $175/hour  

Screenings

Speech screening: $135/hour
Kindergarten readiness screening: $375-650
Autism screening for children under age three: $975 per screening
Fine motor screening: $200 per screening

Evaluations

Financial Aid Available

For evaluations, fees vary depending on the number of specialists involved in your child’s evaluation, the number of places your child is evaluated (at our offices and/or at your child’s school), the number of people we gather information about your child from (teachers, coaches, etc) and the nature of your questions and concerns.  See below for one-day evaluation estimates:

Autism Spectrum Disorders:  Average cost $3300 with three specialists; $2400 with two specialists
ADHD & inattention:  Average cost $2900
Anxiety and depression:  Average cost $2200
Learning challenges: Average cost $2400

Skill Building Groups

Cost for skill building groups is a flat rate for each group.  Most costs are listed under skill building groups by age.  If the cost is not listed, please call for updated information.  Cost varies based on the number of sessions and the number and types of specialists facilitating the group.

INSURANCE COVERAGE, BILLING & PAYMENT

Many insurance companies provide reimbursement for services we provide.   Coverage is determined by your carrier and your plan.  Get more information on estimating your insurance coverage. 

We accept Santa Clara Medi-Cal and Healthy Families.

You must prepare and send all claims to your insurance company for reimbursement.  We are available to help you with this process.

You will receive a monthly billing statement from our business office which outlines services rendered and information necessary to prepare claims.

Payment is required within 15 days of the billing statement date.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE**

Children’s Health Council (CHC) has a proud tradition of offering financial aid to families–we believe cost should not be a barrier to receiving our excellent services. We are committed to working with you to determine the most cost-effective way to provide you and your child with the services you need. Financial assistance is available to those families with a demonstrated need or under recent financial constraints.

Applying for financial aid is a simple process.  Please complete our financial aid application (also available in Spanish).  You will be notified of eligibility within two business days.

**NOTE:  Since July 2011, CHC has given $300,000 of financial aid to our families. This year, the requests for aid have significantly increased so our fund for the year is almost depleted. Thus, we are no longer accepting applications until July 1st for families who are new to CHC.  We are doing our best to help all families who are currently receiving services. 

We hope to continue partnering with you in getting your child the best help possible. We are doing all we can to fund raise so we can continue to offer help and financial aid for more kids and families!
