Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder – CHADD [web resource]

CHADDChildren and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD), is a national non-profit organization that was founded in 1987 in response to the frustration and sense of isolation experienced by parents and their children with ADHD.  CHADD provides education, advocacy and support for individuals with ADHD and for their families.

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common behavioral condition affecting 11 percent of school-age children.  Symptoms continue into adulthood in more than three-quarters of cases. ADHD is characterized by developmentally inappropriate levels of inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity.
