Dear Parents, Clients and Friends of CHC,
The COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly and we want to keep you informed so you can make plans for your family. As you know, earlier today six Bay Area counties issued Shelter-In-Place orders: Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Marin, Alameda and Contra Costa. You can access details about this order here. As a result, CHC’s Palo Alto, Ravenswood and South Bay offices will close at midnight on March 16. Most mental health services will be addressed via telehealth. Read more.

It’s our eleventh day of “shelter-in-place.”
I’m working remotely from my garage, a makeshift office comprised of a dining room chair, portable folding table and a laptop. My wife, who is not a teacher, is in the house helping our three kids “distance learn,” trying to get them to focus on fractions and word problems. View blog post.
In scary times, anxiety is normal and understandable. It’s important to exercise self care—to center yourself and seek calming influences to manage stress.
Any parent balancing work, homeschool and the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic is bound to have their limits tested by sheltering in place with kids who haven’t seen their friends or participated in sports.
Consider supporting CHC’s ongoing work during this difficult period as we remain committed to the children, teens and young adults in our community with learning and mental health challenges.
