March 7, 2018, News

We are excited to announce that our Executive Director, Dr. Rosalie Whitlock, has been nominated to receive the 2018 People’s Choice Award from the Child Mind Institute.  The People’s Choice Award is presented to an individual whose commitment to raising awareness, helping children and families directly, or advocating for change in the mental health care system is held in the highest esteem by clients, colleagues, and the community.

The Child Mind Institute is a national, independent nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families struggling with mental health and learning disorders. Their annual Change Maker Awards celebrate individuals and organizations who raise awareness and dispel stigma, help children and families directly, or work to transform the way we understand and treat mental health and learning disorders.

From among hundreds of organizations’ nominations for this recognition, Rosalie has been selected as a finalist. The winner will be decided as a result of online voting that is open to the public beginning Wednesday, March 7 and ending on March 23.

Please join us in voting for Rosalie here.

Other honorees that evening will include Activist Award winner, Glenn Close, the founder of Bring Change 2 Mind, which promotes empathy and fights stigma, and Champion Award winner, California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, whose platform includes prioritizing mental health research and early intervention.
