Early Support Program for Autism (ESPA)

The Early Support Program for Autism

Autism affects 1 in 88 children in the U.S. When a family receives an autism diagnosis, knowing what to do next can be confusing. A joint program between Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford and Children’s Health Council called Early Support Program for Autism or ESPA is now available to provide supportive services at no cost to families after diagnosis. Services include parent education, helping connect with providers and guidance in navigating the education and health care systems. Call 650.723.ESPA (3772) for more information or email autismsupport@stanford.edu.

To find out more about the program, please see this article on Support for the Journey Ahead.

To read about some recent information about the importance of early treatment, see this article from the L.A. Times.
