This 6-hour training is intended to promote self-awareness to help them to become more aware of and sensitive to the cultural world of the diverse clients they serve. A special focus will be on helping participants to understand the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s model, The Beloved Community integrated with the principles and practices of Cultural Humility as important in helping mental health professionals to provide more effective culturally responsive services to communities of color. In addition, because of the increasing need for mental health services in this time in history, an additional focus will be on self-care for mental health providers. This 6-hour continuing education program is presented by Gloria Morrow, PhD.
