March 21, 2022
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Registration includes access to both sessions on March 21st and March 22nd.
In this class for all levels of professionals, I will begin by reviewing developmental psychopathology principles, which can inform discussions of neurodevelopment, ADHD, and treatments. I then move into the contentious and important area of ADHD as a key exemplar. I include core mechanisms, developmental trajectories, etiologic factors, sex differences (including longitudinal studies of girls with ADHD), and rising prevalence. I discuss evidence-based treatments, and comorbidities, as well. After reviewing reasons for the dramatic increases in diagnosed prevalence in recent decades, I move on to the crucial area of mental illness stigma--including stigma related to ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions. This training will be led by Stephen Hinshaw. Download the course flyer for a full course description and speaker bios. Participants must successfully complete both courses to receive CE credit.
