This workshop seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of twice-exceptionality, a term used to describe high ability students with co-occurring learning, attention, or social-emotional disabilities. The program will include an empirically-based review of characteristics and needs of high ability students with learning disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and depression/anxiety; detailed instruction in evidence-based identification strategies with interactive exploration of assessment profiles; and discussion of intervention and accommodation strategies. This workshop is designed primarily for psychologists, but has relevance for all levels of professionals involved in the identification and/or treatment of twice-exceptional individuals.
