Jay has had a life-long interest in teaching since spending many hours in each of his parents’ classrooms as a young boy. It was here that he developed his passion for academic and social education and eventually turned that into a Child & Adolescent degree from SF State University. After graduation, Jay began employment for many years as an assistant and a lead teacher at a middle school for kids with learning differences. In his free time, Jay loves to cheer on his favorite team, the Golden State Warriors, and spend time with his wife, daughter, two cats and one bird. Some of his other interests include birding, camping, kayaking, writing, playing sports and watching TV shows and movies.
