Parenting Resource: Answering Your Young Child’s Questions About Coronavirus [video]

Zero to Three, a national nonprofit organization that informs, trains and supports professionals, policymakers and parents in their efforts to improve the lives of infants and toddlers, has assembled some age-appropriate responses to the common questions a toddler might have about coronavirus. Why can’t we leave the house? Why can’t my friend come over to play?

Why can’t I have a turn with that toy?

Why are we wiping down everything with wipes?

Even if your child is too young to ask these questions, you might notice that they still appear curious about all the changes happening around them. You can validate that something different is happening without going into detail. See the answers to the above questions and more in Zero to Three’s coronavirus resources.
