Transitioning Back to School: Strategies to Support Students with Autism [downloadable] [web resource]
Individuals with autism often have challenges adjusting to new routines and novel situations, however, there are many research based strategies that can be implemented to support their return to in-person school. The California Autism Professional Training and Information Network (CAPTAIN) has curated resources for educators and families to help with this transition. View or download resources from California Autism Professional Training and Information Network and the Marin County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA), which include guidance documents and videos, support for students, such stories and infographics, preparation strategies for families, such as social narratives and strategies to help your child wear a mask, and preparation strategies for educators, including intervention resources and modules, social narratives, visual cues, infographics, token systems, and more.
