Course Description: This course is a comprehensive professional training on Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), designed for clinicians and educators. It covers PDA’s core features, diagnostic considerations, and how it differs from traditional autism presentations, then moves into practical intervention frameworks including the PANDA approach, Collaborative Problem Solving, and adapted ABA strategies. This training addresses PDA across home, school, and community settings, with IEP recommendations and alternative schooling options. Two case studies ground the content in real clinical scenarios, and the course closes with ethical considerations and current research.

  1. Describe PDA, its core characteristics, and how it differs from other conditions
