EdRev Expo 2018 Workshop: Family Dynamics [presentation] [downloadable]
Presenters Jude Wolf, Ed.D., Lori Krauss, and Nathan Fernandez share strategies and approaches used to ensure success throughout the life-span. From the perspective of a parent, student, and school, they share the experiences that led to finding appropriate supports within the school system, to fostering relationships with mentors, to communicating and collaborating with teachers and support staff and finally creating a transition plan for post-secondary education.
Handouts include: Snapshot of Learning and Attention Issues in the U.S., The State of Learning Disabilities – Executive Summary, a checklist highlighting the developmental needs (cognitively and social-emotionally) that arise throughout K-12 grades, Teaching Adolescents to Become Learners (literature review from the University of Chicago), and the Student Voices Executive Summary (study of young adults with learning and attention issues).
EdRev Expo is a unique annual event for the 1 in 5 students who learn differently and all who support them. Learn more about EdRev Expo.
