There is no shortage of information in education. What is harder to find is a clear place to begin.
When a student is shutting down, acting out, falling behind, or showing signs that something more may be going on, educators often do what anyone would do. They search. They skim. They ask colleagues. They piece together what they can.
But even with all of that effort, the hardest part still remains: figuring out what applies, what to trust, and what to do first. This is one of the challenges Ellis was designed to address.
Introducing Ellis
Ellis is a digital teaching companion that helps educators describe what they are seeing and review evidence-aligned guidance related to learning, behavior, and emotional needs. It draws from a curated knowledge base shaped by CHC and trusted partners, and it links guidance back to source material so educators can see where it comes from. That matters because student needs rarely fit into a single category.
Academic, behavioral, and emotional concerns often overlap. In those moments, educators do not need more scattered information. They need support that is grounded, practical, and easier to use in real time. At CHC, we believe the relationship between teacher and student matters most. That relationship is where trust is built, where students feel seen, and where meaningful support begins.

Ellis is built to support that work by helping educators get to a clearer starting point more quickly. It is not a replacement for professional judgment or human connection. It is a tool designed to help educators feel more steady, more informed, and better supported in the moments that ask the most of them.
